Эритемные увиолевые ртутные лампы ЛЭ 15, также называемые люминесцентными эритемными лампами, которые представляют из себя источники ультрафиолетового излучения (в длинноволновой области спектра). Данные медицинские приборы служат для обеззараживания помещений, воды, воздуха, дезинфекции окружающих предметов, мебели и оборудования, а также применяются в медицинских учреждениях, учебных и дошкольных заведениях, сельском хозяйстве для профилактики распространения болезнетворных микробов и вирусных заболеваний.

Широкое применение люминесцентные эритемные лампы находят в климатических условиях с коротким световым днем (на севере) для создания необходимой человеку дополнительной эритемной облученности и восполнения недостатка ультрафиолета в организме. Внутренняя поверхность эритемных увиолевых ламп ЛЭ 15 представляет из себя покрытое люминофором стекло, в результате чего сразу же после включения питания такие приборы становятся источниками ультрафиолетового излучения. Не выделяют озон.
